Welcome!
Hello to my blog! This is my first blog post here!
I've always wanted to start on a blog, but never got to it, for a variety of reasons. Well, I saw an opportunity to get started on this, so here I am!
I will be blogging about:
- My projects, e.g. school projects, personal projects, etc.
- My experiences, e.g. my internships, my work experiences, etc.
- Things I've learnt and would love to share!
- Or basically anything that interests me!
Do follow along if you're keen on any of the above!
How this site is built
I've always been searching for a way to build a blog that's:
- Relatively lightweight
- Supports SEO (despite how this might seem easy, I've faced quite a few issues with this in the past ><)
- Easy to maintain and update!
And this is where I came across this awesome project called Nobelium:
It was super slick, but unfortunately, it was in JavaScript. This is when I came across yokinist's TypeScript fork of it:
And I was quite heavily inspired by his website! So I built my own version using Next.JS, TypeScript and Bulma, with some heavy referencing of his project.
I'm not exactly very satisfied with what I have currently - I feel quite bad for having copied quite a fair bit of his ideas (albeit with my own restyling) and I aim to slowly branch off as time goes. Likely, as I continue to blog, I will continue to make original changes and adjustments to the site.
